Guess what...

Brayden has continued to improve beyond belief!

Since pictures can say more than words, I'll start with this...

I got to hold Brayden for the first time today!! It was SO GREAT! His vent tube is GONE and he now just has the oxygen tube in his nose! He will also be TOTALLY OFF his nitric as of 11pm! Tomorrow I think they are going to feed him through the tube that goes into his stomach and if he can tolerate it and properly digest his food, they will start him on the bottle.....AND if all goes well with his feedings I will be bringing him home in about 7-10 days!!!!

Here is Daddy with Brayden (one of his eyes is open!):

Our Family:Daddy's first diaper change (he did WAY better than Mommy...guess that means diaper duty for Dad!)

He loves holding Daddy's finger...

A necklace Chris had ordered for me before I had him - it has Brayden's initials on the back.

We are so grateful for all of your prayers. We also thank you for all the prayers you have sent up for all of the other NICU babies and precious Harper. Many of you asked about the baby that was abandoned. From what I have gathered from some of the other NICU parents who've been there much longer than we have, there are several who have been left and protective services have been called. I don't know very many details on them, and I also don't know how accurate the information I've been given is, but I do know those precious little ones need our prayers. If they would let me, I would take every single one of them home. I am so thankful to the nurses who love on those babies and give them so much attention. Thank you so much for praying for the babies and their nurses.

A lot of you have also asked how I'm doing post c-section. I can honestly say I have the world's best husband. Every day he bandages me up very carefully. I'm healing well because of how attentive he has been to me. He doesn't let me get in/out of the car without his help let alone sit down, stand up, pick anything up etc. I've thanked God for him every day, but since going through this, I have a whole new appreciation and love for him. He really is the best.

I can't say it enough...thank you for your prayers. I wish there was a more elaborate way to say it, because it just seems so simple in return for what you have all done for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We thank God each night for every single one of you.

Hey there - found your blog through the blog for Harper, through the blog "Bring the Rain" - Our family lives in Oregon, but I couldn't resist commenting as our son's name is Brayden - and he'll be turning 10 this year. He is so precious to us, so it will be easy to keep your son's name in our prayers -

Based on what I read it sounds like both Brayden and Harper are demonstrating the glory of God - Such huge praises!

Blessings to your family!

It is Friday morning and I wanted to share this scripture that was in my daily study. I thought of Kelly and Jenna and thought this was meant for both of you.

Isaiah: 40: 29

He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak.

Heavenly Father, we know that Kelly and Jenna are tired and worn out, and we know both the precious babies are weak and need your strength. I pray your word believing that you will give power to the families and strength to the sick. In Jesus Name, AMEN

Have a great day.

Kelly and Jenna,
Each day when I read your blogs my eyes fill with tears. Not for what you are going through - though I pray for you daily - but for how God is using your two families and your little ones to reach others. I also can't help but to think of the day when you both get to take both of those babies to your church. And with the way they are improving, it doesn't sound like that's too far off. I just can't imagine the rejoicing there will be in your church when those two healthy babies get to go. And what a connection Harper and Brayden will have starting out their lives. Praying for all of you from Jonesboro.

Jenna,

I just discovered your blog, and I have spent the last 30 minutes reading about Brayden. He is a beautiful miracle, and I wanted you to know that I am praying for him, for you, and for your husband.
Five years ago, my grandson was rushed to the NICU; he was very, very ill. My precious dil had to go home without her new baby boy. My son was devastated, but God is good. Today my grandson is strong, healthy, very loved, and very happy. Believe in miracles; you are holding one in your arms. Each time I hug my grandson, I am reminded of faith and miracles.
Blessings and unending prayers. Jen

on our end, it seems so simple to pray. but it is my personal honor to be able to lift your family up in prayer.
fyi...we are approved by the state of sc to adopt, so bringing home one of those babies would not be THAT difficult for us. And to think, you are just seeing one hospital. imagine how many babies are abandoned DAILY throughout our country. breaks my heart.
i will continue to pray for all.
