It's The Final Countdown

I've been gone since 9:30am this morning and literally just walked in the door - I think I might possibly be the busiest stay at home wife ever! j/k.

So today was my LAST appointment! Chris wasn't able to go with me because he had two meetings scheduled at the time of my appt (total bummer) but my mom went. I was so excited to hear what Dr. S had to say...until he said the word "nothing." As in "nothing" was going on. How exactly can that be when I've been having killer cramps and contractions?! Apparently Brayden is quite happy right where he is.

My nurse was concerned about my swelling and dizziness but Dr. S wasn't because I only have a week left until my induction. It's kind of ironic because I scheduled this awhile ago but I probably would have ended up doing it anyway due to my swelling and dizziness.

I should have asked exactly what "nothing" was (am I even a teeny bit dilated?!) but I was so shocked that I never asked my list of questions.

So here's the plan:
Monday at 4:30 I will go check into the hospital and they will start my medication. After it's started I have until midnight to eat anything I want. At midnight they totally cut me off. Dr. S expects that I will be delivering sometime Tuesday afternoon or evening. He said a typical induction takes between 18-22 hours but some do go faster.

It's so weird to think at this time next week I am going to be in the hospital waiting to deliver a baby. Part of my really thought this day would never come, and I am so blessed that it has. I know there are a lot of you out there praying to be in this position soon, and know that I am praying for all of you!

If you have a minute, please take the time to stop and pray for a new mother who has lost one of her twins and quite possibly will be losing the other (they were born at 25 weeks). My best friend Amy has a new blog and her two most recent posts will fill you in on the story.

omg! I so remember those days waiting and waiting at the end! Oh and if I were you, trust your doc on it taking a while when you get induced..... I had a 13 hour wait while I dilated! But the whole day seemed to go by so fast.

Enjoy these last days of you and Chris as a twosome!

I can't wait to see Brayden!!!

I know you are anxiously awaiting his arrival ;)! A little piece of optimism for you...I was induced at 7:30 am and delivered at 3:03 pm. Perhaps it will go a little quicker. Until then I hope you can enjoy your time with Chris, relax, and know we are praying for you!!!

I am a big fat nothing too! When my doc didn't even say anything this time when he checked me, I asked...any progress? He said maybe a fingertip...which I think is close to 1 cm dialated...maybe! Its crazy that you have an estimated birthdate for your sweet boy! Can't wait to see pics of him!
