8 weeks old!

Yesterday Brayden turned 8 weeks old!

Hanging out in his new friend, the Boppy, with his other new friend, Mr. Bug. Everything in our house is Mr....Mr. Fan, Mr. Boppy, Mr. Bug...

This was taken this morning right before we headed out:

The last several nights have been a DREAM....Brayden's been sleeping 4-5 hours at a time! Oh my gosh, I'm in heaven. I hope this lasts! It is soooooo nice to get some real sleep. My third round of antibiotics finally seems to have kicked my sinus infection to the curb which also helps a ton.

All around, Brayden is doing so well. He's eating a little bit better and even beginning to enjoy his baths (well, he doesn't cry anymore at least...he just stares at me like I'm nuts). We go in next Tuesday for his 2 month check up and he will get shots. I've been asked several times if I think I will cry...my answer is no. I've seen him go through soooooooo much worse than shots, so I don't anticipate crying but who knows!

Last but not least, and TOTALLY off topic, did you watch DWTS on Monday? If so you probably saw Ty Murray dance. I think I have a new favorite quote (he said this during his interview):

"You're never completely ready, it just becomes your turn." He said this in relation to bull riding, but I just thought it was great!

Oh and for those who asked, YES! I thought Melissa was fantastic! I expected it though, because of her cheerleading background. Oh, and I thought it was great that everyone boo'ed Jason. Not very nice of me but I'm just being honest!

We go Tues for our 2 month appt and shots too! Maybe we will see you there. I forget what time. I'm just like you - shots seem like nothing after all we went through. She screamed with her RSV shot and it didn't bother me at all. :-)
Yeay for sleep!

That picture of him smiling is too cute!! That description of him "looking at you like you are nuts" while you are giving him a bath is hilarious!! I always wonder what they are thinking...

I am a huge DWTS fan- I actually got to go to a live show last season. They truly don't know who is eliminated until the last minute. I thought Melissa did great and I loved Ty Murrey's quote. I also loved watching him dance. Glad to know Brayden is sleeping well at night. 4-5 hours seems like an eternity when you're only used to one or two at a time.

Brayden looks soooo happy (and cute!) in that first picture! Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Isn't it wonderful when babies sleep during the night??!! I am sure Brayden will even sleep more for you when the weather gets nicer, and you are able to spend more time outside and he really gets tired.

He is such a cutie. My girls were in NICU for 6 weeks and although it does hurt me to see them hurt when they have blood drawn and get shots, I don't cry. They have been through a lot worse that I had to see. Same thing for you and Kelly. I would give him the lowest dose of tylenol prior to the appointment. That is what our doctor recommended because all the shots do make their legs hurt and they do run fever.

Jenna, glad you are able to get some sleep and that the meds are working so you can kick the sinus infection.

You and Kelly both made me smile tonight! My daughter was born at 26 weeks so when she get an immunization or Synagis shot, I'm really nonchalant. I KNOW she's been through far worse and I know she can handle a quick little poke. She always recovers in less than 30 seconds. Now, she was hospitalized the last few days and needed an IV put in and THAT was traumatic for both of us to watch two nurses hold her down for 5 minutes, but a simple immunization- nah, our babies can handle much more. :)

Ok, I just *had* to comment to this post! LOVED Melissa on DWTS, so glad she was on there. Ty was the cutest thing ever!! Not the best dancer, but his personality was just so cute. LOVED that line he said, too! And Gilles, he was nice to watch, to ;)

So glad you are feeling better; sinus infections are no fun. Brayden, as usual, is adorable. I bet he's even cuter now that you both feeling better. Sleep does wonders when you are a new mom!
I am a big DWTS fan. My 12 year-old daughter & I enjoy it together. My faves? Gilles Marini & Shawn Johnson. Dark horse could be David Alan Grier. Melissa? I will reserve judgment for after she has had a chance to train. (Geez, didn't mean to leave a blog post here.:~})

Wow 8 weeks! He's getting cuter and cuter with every picture Jenna.

Although, both my kids were in the NICU I still cried during every single one of their shots (and my oldest son is 8!) I don't think I'm the idea parent for a pediatrician during these times LOL! I guess it brings back memories and I'm a sucker for my boys' tears ha!

But more power to you if you don't cry. I wish I was that strong.

Happy 8 week Birthday Brayden! I'm sure you'll get good reports at your two month appointment the way your mommy is spreading good news about you! Glad to hear your spirits are up and you're all enjoying each other at home. Keeping you guys in my thoughts.

I watch DWTS and I thought Ty Murray was too cute... and I loved that quote! Before the season started (and Jewel was still in it) he was asked how he was going to beat her. His response (in his Southern twang, which makes my heart skip a beat) "Well, I guess I'll just try to get her pregnant!" Hilarious!!

Hi Brayden looks so happy now! I love DWTS, but I missed hearing Ty say that. I voted for him even though he was not a great dancer and Melissa was awesome. Everyone loves her and Jason is a stinker!!!!
Glad you are getting some sleep and feeling better!
