April Rose

I've read the comments about this being a hoax and when I get back this afternoon, I will read through the blogs and give you my take...whatever that might be.

I've received a lot of emails asking me about April Rose, so I am going to do my best to fill you in on what I know.

I don't personally know April or her family, but I've avidly been keeping up with the blog.

I still have my window open on my computer that has her birth story, so I am going to give you a brief synopsis of what happened.

- April was born at 2:48pm on Sunday
- She weighed 4lb 8oz
-Around 6pm that night, April's heart rate began to decline
-The last real update was Monday and it was to say April had been with B and D for 19 hours and they were going to have the doctor come back and check up on her

Later yesterday "D" posted and said that he was taking everything down because of the large amount of hate mail they had received. He did say that they would give updates on April but when I checked this morning the whole blog had been disabled.

So that is all I know. If the blog comes back up, let me know!

More later.

Jenna- I was surprised this morning when I clicked refresh on the blog. I wonder why they completely shut down the blog. I understand that they were receiving some negative energy. However, I was praying...and praying for them. I'm sure that there was much more good then bad. Now I feel kinda lost, since I don't know what the current situation is. Please let us know if you hear anything...

Jenna --

This appears to be a scam. There is a blog called www.littleaprilroseisfake.blogspot.com -- if you go back and read through the comments, it will shed a LOT of light. I have now started praying for the people behind this because I truly believe it is FAKE. The pregnancy center is fake ....also, she was getting paid .02 for hits on her blog, having contests to get the hits, thus generating money. There is rumor, of course, that Raechel, who is just a friend, and "B" are either the same person or related. It's really sick. The picture she posted of the baby is actually a doll called "Avery" from the line of dolls called "Reborn" ... check it out for yourself. I chose not to believe it for a few days, but the proof speaks for itself.

That blog was a hoax and she/he got caught. The picture of the 'baby' turned out to be a doll.

The Gibson's Blog has a lot more info on everything about the hoax. http://gibsontwins.blogspot.com/. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours reading everything! The whole thing is so sad. My heart aches for the "REAL" mothers that are dealing with a sick child or the loss of a child.

Oh, this makes me so sad. I will have to sit and read everything. When I first heard about her story I wrote her a rather long email. You see, my first child died when he was 6 days old due to a rare heart defect. I was trying to provide support in a situation that didn't sound very good. As I have walked in those shoes. Knowing from the get go that it was going to be a tough battle.

I got online today just to check April Rose's status...I've been praying for "D" and "B" and April Rose all weekend. What are your thoughts,do you think this is a scam? I really don't know what to believe anymore, and I find it so sad if it truly is a scam...so very sad either way really.

I really don't even know WHAT to think! I have been praying for them for months now and I have NEVER once believed this was a scam. Today, I am not so sure! I am seeing so many things that don't add up, but my hopes are that NO ONE would be sick enough to pull something like this off! I truly can't imagine how anyone could be so twisted as to use a story like this for their own agenda! Still hoping this isn't true.............

Unfortunately, after reading everything, I am also inclined to believe that it is a scam. I have read through every single solitary comment and post on both blogs (Nobody's and the Gibson's). I also showed my husband the picture posted of April and the picture of the doll and he said they were one and the same, without knowing much of anything about it.
There have been similar blog scams such as Pepe's friends about a person posing as somebody with CF and she received a ton of money and gifts, as her blog was set up for years before it was found out. And evidently, another blog called Confessions of a Yummy Mummy was also a scam blog about a mom whose baby died at the end of the pregnancy.
So, there are people out there who are just far-fetched enough to create these kinds of blogs without regard to readership and feelings of the readers.
This is really sad. I was really hoping that it wasn't the case, but I can't deny that it most likely is anymore.

The yummy mummy blog was fake? Well "C", put up a new blog after her son's so called death (I am personally not sure if it were fake or not, i have never read anything on it) and has made her NEW blog private... the things that make you go humm!!!

That is so disheartening if it is true... I will say this though, I did receive a comment once about someone not wanting to follow my blog about my daughter because I had google adsense on there. She wasn't sure if I was legit or not. So I removed it.

I followed the blog. I believed. I prayed. Now...I feel like it was a hoax. For goodness sake. The prayers from followers had to be much more than the hateful comments, emails and so on. Sad that people would go to these lengths.

I believe it was truly a hoax. Even in the ‘blog’ world some people are psychology impaired.

I read it last night and there was an update after D's post and it said that momma and baby were at the hospital getting checked out. That neither were feeling too great. Blood work was being drawn and testing done on April. Then I checked it this morning and it was completely gone.

This story is breaking my heart. These poor people have so much to deal with, ignorance is not one of them.

The Pfershy's said...

Oh no, I just read all the stuff about this being a hoax. It certainly seems like it is... I don't know what to think, I was suckered into believing it and prayed for these "poor" people. If they are truly a fake then I pity them come judgement day....

Oh my gosh! I can't believe any of this!! I didn't even know if was a possibility that this was fake. SO sad...either way. There are some crazy people in this world.

i was a little surprised when the put a picture up of "april" and there wasn't any facial deformities. from a medical standpoint (i'm a pediatric physical therapist) there is generally ALWAYS at least a lip deformity (and usually a lot more) in a baby diagnosed with lobar holoprosencephaly.

I read this blog once but never even thought it was a hoax. I find it very sad that someone would make this kind of thing up for attention. I think its like those munchousen by proxy moms who hurt those kids so they can get attention.

I DO NOT think that the Yummy Mummy one is fake. She wrote for months about other things besides getting pregnant, and had no complications until the baby ('Bug') died. How would that get "Hits"? And even after, C only put her blog private because of a confessions post that got out of hand with ppl thinging Mckmama was fake and some awful things being said.

I read your blog pretty regularly. Came over from Kelly's and found her, I can't even remember where. But that's how this blog-o-sphere works.

At any rate, wanted to be sure you saw this:
