This is why I wasn't at church yesterday.

This pretty much sums up how yesterday went:

Booboo was NOT a happy camper. At all. ALL DAY.

I really don't know what is wrong. I think/thought he is teething but I thought for sure that the suspect tooth would have come in by now if that was the issue. He woke up at 5am (sorry Daddy, it was your day!) screaming. Chris thinks I jinxed him. I have a bad habit of this. I always say things like "You know, B hasn't woken up crying in over a month!" so of course you know the very next day he wakes up crying.

He didn't take one, single nap ALL day. Scary. I took his temp a billion times, checked his gums, gave him his frozen teething ring, put him in his walker, bouncy, jumperoo, superseat and swing. The only thing that mildly worked was the jumperoo.

It was a long day. I ended up putting him in his crib last night WIDE awake. He's always asleep when I lay him down. The good thing was he eventually did put himself to sleep. It only took maybe 30 mins but it's good to know that he can do that.

He woke up this morning at 6:50. Hopefully today is a better day!

I am so sorry that you had a bad day yesterday. I bet it is the teeth. My babies (I have 3 children) and when they were teething they were out of it. There was no schedule, no reason for things you just went with what makes them happy at the time and then paise the Lord when the teeth finally come thru.

It was great that he put himself to sleep. My first child we always put down asleep then when she was a toddler we needed to start putting her down when she was awake...that was the longest and hardest week of listening to her scream for us that we ever went thru. We learned and we put the other two down awake from the get go.

I hope your little one gets these teeth thru soon! Amy

Miss Marlie acted like she was teething months before it actually cut through. They have all natural teething tablets at Wal-Mart or such places that you should get for him. They just dissolve under their little tongues and seem to make all the difference. B will Thank You! LOL I'm glad he was able to put himself to sleep, it seems the bigger they get, they harder it is for them to self soothe. Congrats...he's growin up! LOL

I second the Coach's Wife's comment. Get teething tablets. They worked great for my son, and they are homeopathic so you won't feel like you are "drugging" Brayden.

Good luck!

OH yuck - poor B! Now you know how a typical day at our house is like. ha! Maybe minus the unhappiness - but we never take naps (or sleep at night. UGH!)
It's probably teething - I bet a tooth pops up this week. OR do you think it could be an ear infection? All of my friends' kids are always getting those so I'm paranoid. I always make the doctor check her ears. In fact - I was going to take Harper today because she was tugging her ear but she has quit and I think it had to do with her teething.
It's so hard to figure out sometimes!

I am a dental hygienist and I tried lots of things to help my little girl get through teething and the otc teething tablets seemed to work best. They dissolve right on their tongue. Good luck, I hope it helps!

I hate days/nights like that. I always feel like pulling my hair out partly because he's so miserable and partly because I'm so sleep deprived. I hope that he's doing better soon. *hugs*

Teething tablets (Hylands) ROCK!!!! They always knocked my kids OUT! I used them with all 3 of my kiddos & they are all in grade-school now. Almost scared me a bit, but everyone (mom, dad, baby) got rest.
Hope today was better! :)

Hi Jenna,

I've been a reader of your blog since the birth of Brayden. I check back often to see how the little man I prayed for is doing....looks like is doing awesome despite the bad couple of days. He is ADORABLE!! Love the picture in the next post with the carrots. hehe. Anyway, just wanted to say (maybe this is what everyone is saying) that he very well may be teething still. GOSH, I remember, at least with my son, was "teething" long before a tooth ever cut--the drooling, crabiness etc. OR B could just be having a bad day. I think as parents we always want there to be an answer to what is bothering them, BUT he could just be having "one of those days"! Thanks for sharing your story.
