Do you mac??

First, thanks to everyone who participated in "I Don't!" I'll be doing this again on Wednesday!
Also, I'll be picking a Giveaway winner later, so stay tuned!

So I have a question for all of you since I'm assuming you are on a computer right at this very moment...Do you mac? As in, do you have an Apple computer? We don't. We've got a HP and a Toshiba.

Over the last year Chris has been attempting to convince me to get a Mac. I haven't used one in years (granted, the one we used at work was only used for CADing and it was a dinosaur). We were at Best (Worst) Buy and I was checking out the Apple laptops and they actually seemed very user friendly.

So here are my ?'s:
- Do you have an Apple?
- If you DONT is there a reason why?
- If you DO why?
- Do you have both a regular computer and an Apple? Tell me what you think about how they work or why you find your Apple beneficial.

Thanks!

I LOVE my Mac!! I switched over from a Toshiba laptop to the new 17inch MacBook 4 months ago and it was the best decision I could have made. Once I got adjusted, (and I want to say it took me about 2-3 weeks),I found it was actually easier to use than my PC. I don't think you can go wrong. =)

I don't have a Mac, but both of my parents, one of my brother, and my FIL all have Macs and they love them. I would love to buy a Mac, but we can't afford it right now.

I've been using a mac since I was 5 years old. No joke! We got an SE-30 when I started kindergarten. Right now I have a MacBook Pro and I LOVE IT! My mom just bought an new iMac and she also has a MacBook. We've had very few problems with our Macs over the years. They are very user friendly. It might take a few days/weeks to adjust but you'll pick it up quickly. Its really not that different than a PC. Macs in general have fewer problems and fewer virus's than PC's. My husband was an avid PC user and swore he hated Mac's now he is considering buying a new Mac laptop and wants to get his parents one. The are fantastic.

We don't have a Mac but I love them!! When we get to the point of needing a new computer, we will for sure get one.

I have a mac and my husband as well. It is amazing for pictures and music. So user friendly and would not take you anytime to get the hang of it. I actually can't function on a pc anymore.

I have a mac, and I love it. It is so user friendly. I have had very few problems and love some of the programs it has to offer. It did take a few weeks to get used to it, but I will never go back to a PC now.

I am a first time commenter, long time reader :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mac!!! I have had my Mac laptop for about 5 years and it is still going strong! I have friends who have been through several PC laptops in the time I have had my faithful Mac Powerbook. I would love to upgrade to a newer, prettier MacBook but my oldie but goodie is still running so well, I can't justify replacing it. PLUS, for $250 (I think that's the amount) you can bring in your old mac and they will fix anything wrong with it and replace anything broken!! I can not say enough good things about the Apple technical support, either! Go with a Mac...you won't regret it!

Sincerely,
Amanda in Louisiana

P.S. I love your Blog. Brayden is such a handsome little man!!

My husband and I both have Macs, and we love them. He's been using them for years (a tech geek) but I got my first one when I worked at a school that participated in the Apple laptop program. They just make sense, you don't have to worry about spyware/viruses, and the programs that come with it are so easy to use. There are some downsides if you try to use it for work and your company has software programs that don't cooperate, but that rarely happens. I'll never go back to a PC as my main computer!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE our Macs and so do all our friends .... they are 1000 times better than PCs. If you can afford one, buy one. You won't be disappointed!

I love my Macs!!! I was hesitant to buy one at first, but finally gave in and purchased a MacBook. Within a week I knew how to operate all of the programs. It's very user friendly. My husband and I would fight over the MacBook, so about 6 months later we purchased an iMac for my husband's office. I really feel like they have way less problems than PCs. It's true what they say...once you go Mac, you never go back!!!

Mac it up baby!!

I have a Mac and have had one since 2006 (this is actually my second in that time frame, my cat Moses dumped a full glass of H2O on my old one). I grew up with an Apple at home. We had an old school huge Apple that was massive and had a green screen--that was 19 years ago, they've gotten better. :) We used a dell at home and I got a dell laptop when I initial went away to college and it was awful. My parents' have a HP desktop, my Dad and sister also have Mac laptops, my Prince Phillip has a HP laptop and is going Mac when he has money (or I surprise him with one for his bday, shh...).

Anyways, switch to Mac, you'll never regret it.

LOVE our Macs. That's all we have ( a Mac lap top and desktop) Yes they are more expensive but it's definitely worth it, and really aren't too difficult to learn on!

The only time I have ever used an Apple computer is when I was on vacation visiting friends...and I could not figure out how to use it at ALL. It is not the computer I grew up with and know how to use. I don't see myself ever getting an Apple-- I don't want to relearn the basics.

We have both and I love my Mac hands down. However, I don't think I would purchase at Best Buy...I would purchase directly from Apple. You don't have the problems with a Mac as you do a PC....less virus problems, less other problems (like windows), and if you really really need Windows there are things you can buy (my hubby uses something called Parallels) so our Mac can be both a Mac and a PC when we need it to be. Anyway.....love the mac won't ever go back to anything else.

Great topic Jenna. I have been wanting to get an apple for a long time, but haven't taken the plunge yet. I'm nervous to make the switch. Mainly because I don't know much about them. I have an iPod and love it. But that's all the experience I have with any Apple products.

I have a Dell, but my first computers were Macs. I wanted a Mac, but we couldn't afford it. I really like the new interface (I think that is the word) of Vista.

My husband has a mac and I have a pc. I love the mac and if they weren't so expensive I would have one too. In my opinion a mac is worth its weight in gold if you are an avid photoshop user or if you work building websites n' stuff. Mac totally beats pc in that area. For surfing the web, a pc does just fine. Well, except when it crashes. :)
A mac is more $$, but they don't need to be replaced as often as a pc.

Hi, I don't have a mac.

I just found your blog. I was reading all about your son's medical journey and I can so totally relate.
My son was born at 39 wks 1 day with no problems. When he was 7 wks old he got very sick and stopped breathing and we spent over 40 days in and out of the PICU with 25 days being our longest stay. He was on the vent 3 times and had so much of the same stuff your son did. The withdrawls were HORRIBLE as we would try to wean him down! When we finally came home for good we had to bring narcotics home to continue weaning him.
I'm so glad that your son is doing so much better! Mine is too!
Anyway, just wanted to say hey! :)

Hi, My name is Whitney, and I am a mac. Just kidding, this isn't AA (apple-anonymous).
I do have a mac (2 in fact) and love them. We've had our iMac for 5 years and also have a 2.5 year old laptop. We haven't ever had any problems with either one. I like them because they are so stable and need so little maintenance. We also don't need virus protection which is handy. Now, I am a "computer person" as is my husband, but my parents who are not "computer people" also love their iMac. My mom says it is the easiest computer she's ever used. You can also take classes at the apple stores. They have a program for $99/year that entitles you to 1 private lesson per week where you can learn pretty much anything you want! They also have great support if you do happen to have a problem.
I love my mac.

I have had a Macbook for about a year now! I love it! It has taken some getting used to, but still love it!
I personally love the iphoto program, I can add lots of fun effects to photos and I love the way it organizes them! I also have Word, Excel, and PP on my Mac! They are very user friendly and have lots of options! Good Luck!

We have both a PC and Mac in our home and while I was stubborn about it at first I definitely perfer the mac. You said it exactly, they are MUCH more user friendly. When my PC dies we will be getting another Mac

apples are great computers for graphics and things of that nature. we use one at work in our graphic design department. They are wonderful machines. At home we have a basic computer. DELL most hate that 4 letter word but they work fine for us. it is easier to use than a basic pc once you get your key strokes right.

i have a mac laptop and love it! i use imovie a lot to make videos and i just think they are much easier to use then a PC. the only time i use a PC is when i have to print something as my mac laptop is not connected to a printer! just one piece of advice....DON'T BUY A MAC AT BEST BUY! I bought to laptops there (Macs) and had to return them within 24 hrs do to faulty parts in the computer, I later found out that they were refurbished ones other people had returned and best buy fixed and RESOLD! Hopes this helps! =)

Jon and I got a Mac desktop for Christmas. It's the really big 24" one and we LOVE it! Learning the Mac version of Microsoft Office has been the biggest adjustment, but I will never go back to a PC. It is great for editing pictures, and it has neat things that sync with iPhone that I don't think PCs have. I would recommend them to everyone!

I love Mac though I don't have one at the moment. When I worked in advertising, it's all we used and they are so easy and fun to use! I would have one now if my husband liked them. He can fix anything on a pc and doesn't want to get something he doesn't know anything about. :) I'm still working on him though.

I say get one! :)

We LOVE our Mac also!!! We've had ours almost 2 months and it's great! Let me just say, if you decide to take the plunge and get one, you won't be disappointed!

Yes, the IPhoto application is really cool! The resolution is fantastic on our 24 in screen.. need I go on??

=)

I have both. I use a macbook and we have a desktop PC. The only thing I miss on my macbook is being able to right click. I know that might sound silly, but you don't realize how much you do it! I LOVE all of the programs that come with the mac, and I also bought Microsoft Office for the mac, so I can be "compatible" for school and work. My battery lasts forever. It almost never "freezes" etc. I'm sure I don't use my mac to its full potential, but I would say I love it!

Missed this in all the hoopla around here or I would have chimed in yesterday :)

I've had ONLY Macs and love them!!! I currently have an iMac G5 (a few years old), and our daughter has a Macbook (mandatory for her photography major). My brother and his family have had only Macs with the exception of my nephew's first computer (he now has a Mac), as have my folks.

They ARE user friendly, and while there are some programs that won't work with a Mac and they can be frustrating at times, I wouldn't have anything else!
