New Bink and Stranger Danger

Remember this bink?

It's called a gumdrop and it's the only bink Bubby will take. They started him on it at ACH and it's been a habit that proved very hard to break.

I bought him another bink awhile ago but he would always spit it out and look at me like I've lost my mind. Until now...

He kept it all day yesterday and today, so I think we're in good with the new bink. Phew. I've got to order gumdrops online so heaven forbid we ever lost them!
Now for the stranger danger...the other night we ate at Gaskins (ohmyword it was SOOO good) and a woman who works there walked right up to me and picked him straight up out of my arms! No, may I hold him or can I see him...nothing. She just picked him up. It took every ounce of self control to not yank him back. He instantly started bawling...I mean LOUD. And she wasn't going to give him back! I ended up pulling him out of her arms!
Just had to vent for a second.

Are you KIDDING me?!! I can't believe someone would do that! You should've started screaming, "Call the cops!! She's trying to kidnap my baby!". Maybe that would teach her a lesson!

Yay for the new pacifier! Buy A LOT of them. Once he is mobile they will be next to impossible to find. (They have turned up in rather odd places in my house)

As for the stranger... I had a greeter at Walmart YELL at me for not stopping to let her hold my baby. My youngest was asleep in the carseat and sitting in the shopping cart. The greeter said "aww I want to see her" and I walked by sloooowly so she could see. I kept walking and she yelled to me that she wanted to hold her "I just love babies!" I walked away - faster. When I left the store I left at the other side. People are strange! I started wearing my babies in a sling because people are less likely to invade your personal space than the babies.

OH! I had that happen at IHOP once. I was FREAKING OUT! I kept looking at my husband and the friends we were with like, "DO SOMETHING!" Finally my friend took my son out of the ladies arms.

Then just the other day as my husband and I were walking down the street (IN PUBLIC!) with both kids, some guy came up and put his hand out to my little girl (2 1/2) and kept asking her if she wanted to come with him. I scooped her up and my husband grabbed our son's hand and we walked into the restaurant. CRAZY! My heart was POUNDING!!

Some people just have NO sense of what's okay! People are ODD!

oh MY!! Are you for real? I cannot believe that!! Some people are amazing!!!

On a another thought, is that binki a MAM? It looks like it and that is the kind I plan to use so I was just curious. :)

The gumdrop is a great paci for sure--but a pain to order. The stranger taking him out of your arms would have made me spittin' mad for sure.

It's so sad. I wish I could say that people doing that isn't completely "normal" because people seemed to do it all the time when my daughter was younger. I really hated when it happened - as if my daughter wasn't entitled to her personal space just because she's a child.

I completely agree about the baby wearing comment. One of the many perks to wearing my daughter was that people were less likely to touch her, bather her or heaven forbid - pick her up and actually attempt to walk away with her.

Holy cow!!! It's hard to believe people would do just pick up someone's baby without asking permission!! But apparently they do. Wow!!! What a loon!

He is adorable as can be! =)

Have a great day, Jenna!
