Marriage after 1 month?

Has anyone else read that Khloe Kardashian is getting married this weekend? She's known Odom for 1 month!

I was talking to Chris about it last night and he said that they're probably getting married before he heads off to training camp and basketball season starts. But still, one month doesn't seem like very long...

So what do you think of this? Would you do it? Personally, I think I'd wait until maybe basketball season is over - that would give them more time to get to know each other.

Good Lord, NO! Of course I did marry my hubby after 10 months so I guess I can't say much! =)

But they won't have time to get to know one another after the wedding, either. He'll be too busy. Not that celebrity marriages usually last very long anyway, but this one seems doomed for failure.

Oh, yeah, and is she NUTS???

I think it depends on the situation. My husband and I dated for 5 years before getting married but we KNEW we wanted to get married after only a few months of dating. We just wanted to get through college first. I hope they are taking marriage seriously and won't just give up when times get rough.

My husband and I met and a month later we knew we wanted to get married, but we knew we had to know each other better in order for everything to fall into place. My parents knew each other for 5 months before getting engaged and married 4 months later.

Khloe from watching her show seems very I don't want to say loose but I've seen her with ALOT of men in recent years and never dates any of them for very long. I think she has relationship issues (I think she admitted that on last night's episode) and counseling might be a better match for her than marriage in the immediate future.

One month is a little SHORT for me. My husband and I knew eachother for 4 months before we moved in together, got engaged after 1.5 years, and then married 6months. When you are older, you just KNOW when it's right...but one month is a little steep for me!

Well, I hate to say this but she will probably end up divorced as well. One month is way too short.

She was probably feeling left out after she had one sister pregnant and another who is always the center of attention. She had to do something to stand out.

Kim gets attention because she is the most visible, she dated Reggie Bush, magazine covers, etc... Kourtney just announced a pregnancy... Khloe had to do something to garner a little press. It's been a while since her PETA ad came out.

My husband and I were engaged after only 2 and1/2 months and were married after only about a year.......And we have been married for almost 7 years......And we have 2 little boys........Oh and I was only 19 when we got married and my husband was 26 :0) ......So it's VERY POSSIBLE that everything could work out and they could live happily ever after :0)

I know people who had only known each other for 2 weeks before they were wed and they have been happily married for over 25 years.

I believe that when you know you love someone and are crazy about them, then all the little issues you may have will work themselves out just fine......

What's meant to be will be, right?

:0)

Yeah...I would have to agree with you and say a month isn't quite long enough to make that decision. Although, some people said that dating my husband for 11 months and then getting engaged was fast so who knows :-) But...we have been married 4 years and I am pregnant with our second baby so it is working for us so far!

It's hard to have too much faith in the high profile relationships. There is a lot of added stress as well. I would 100% agree that 1 month isn't long enough if it is truly from the time that they met. I, however, married my husband 1 month after we were engaged which was only 6 months after meeting him and 3 months after we started dating. Not getting to know each other first has made some things hard, but neither of us would change a thing! We've been married 4 years and there are still things that we are getting used to about each other...dating longer wouldn't have make a bit of difference. Since I don't agree with living together before you are married, I think that regardless of how long you date, there will be adjustments after you are married and living together.
To each his own. I hope for them that they are happy and that things work out.

One month seems way too fast to me! Maybe it's because we do things a lot different in the South. Jay and I knew each other for years before we got married. In the small town I live in, everyone would assume she were pregnant because nobody gets married that fast here.

I read that somewhere today, as well. I know that when it's the right person that "you just know"....but really? CRAZY!

That's crazy. That's lust not love. : ( I was actually just watching Kourtney and Khloe take Miami and she was talking about her massive trust issues with men.....yikes.

My husband and I dated for 3 days, got engaged and were married 3 months later. We are best friends and we have a strong marriage. Jesus is the center of our marriage which is our greatest asset. Why don't we all pray for this couple and speak words of life over them? I think our prayers and kind words would do A LOT more than gossiping about whether or not they should have married and if they will divorce. Just a thought.

Lord - we ask for an awesome testimony to come from these two. Draw them to you! Let them become a dynamic couple who serves you and inpacts a culture. You are a God of many miracles and YOU bless marriage and covenant. I pray a blessing and protection over this marriage. In Jesus name, Amen.

It's all the honeymoon phase after one month. If I'd have married everybody I was happy with after the first month, I'd be divorced a LOT! I would not do it, especially having the added pressure of being talked about in People mag (and this blog!)

That said, I know a few couples who dated for 6 weeks or less and have been married for 20+ years.

Somehow, I don't think these 2 will be added to that list.

Totally crazy if you ask me, but just my opinion, haha!!! :)

One month seems a bit short but my husband and I were engaged after nine months of dating and married three months after that. We will be celebrating 17 years next month. We were young too (21 and 22). I hope it works for them.

I agree with the other commenters that she is doing it for attention. Stealin the thunder from Kourteney is what I think she is doing and it's sad. But any family that is THAT exposed probably has some problems of some sort! :) And on a side note, I'm not sure if you remember this or not Jenna, but we talked about a steroid cream for excema. We got that prescription from our doctor but it wasn't making a difference. She didn't want Marlie to have anything stronger because of the long term effects on their skin. We have a pending appt with a derm, but until then I was told about something that is helping more than anything ever did! I mixed equal parts of vitamin E cream and vasoline. I just mixed them in a tupperware bowl that had a lid so I can store it. It is super cheap and like I said, is working the best. So I just thought I would let you know in case Brayden was still having flare ups, it might be worth a try. :)
