Lots of Sparklies

Our tree is still a work in progress which is why you haven't seen it yet. I am still not 100% better but I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll be able to finish up the tree!

For now, I though I'd show you some special ornaments for 2009. My mom buys us ornaments every year and always has. I'm not putting out the old ones on the tree this year because a lot of them are breakable and with B you never know what he's going to get into.

But, I am putting the 2009 collection out...

Starting with this one. It says "2009" and has a pic of B:

This is a Baby's first Christmas one as well - you can put a pic on the other side of the saying.
Our family of 3:

Last year, when Brayden was sick, a sweet friend from church made this one for him:

She made this one for our family - it has our last name on it.

Mom got this one for me:
And this is Chris'!
Does your family participate in this tradition?
Don't forget to give me your birthday party ideas one post down!

Yes--we do the same thing! Hubs and I have always gotten an ornament for Christmas from our parents. Now my mom buys each of us an ornament; both sets of grandparents buy our sweet Hallie an ornament that she gets to pick out. This year she picked out a Cinderella ornament and a Nutcracker ballerina ornament. :o)

Yes...we collect ornaments. Last night, as we were decorating our tree (my son and I), we stopped counting at 550 hooks. I know I have more than that on my tree. EAch one is like a mini-scrapbook..there are all kinds, but they tell a story or share a memory. Ornaments are the best!

cute! We do the same thing but with our travels. We buy an ornament for every place we travel to and then buy one for Lauren from all of the places she has been. I'm collecting hers for her and will give her a box of them when she gets married.

I love oranments! The girls in my family always get each other ornaments for Christmas and I love it. Christian and I also always get each other an ornament for our stockings. I love getting special ornaments and looking back on them! Our tree is still a big work in progress. It is sitting in our living room with no lights or ornament...ugh so behind!

I have the same tradition. Every year I get a Hallmark ornament. The first year I got married I thought my mom wasn't going to get me an ornament anymore so I told her it was the only thing I wanted for Christmas! haha Now, for my baby I've already bought him his first ornament...baby booties like in the Hallmark commercial. :)

My parents have always bought us an ornament and continue to do so. They also buy each of the grandkids one. My husband and I have buy each other an ornament each Christmas and we also get one each time we take a vacation. We buy our little boy a son ornament, plus one from the Hallmark Collection that we started when he was born. I love this tradition!

Both mine and the hub's parents had the same tradition and then we've done it for both girls, so our tree is bursting with ornaments!! The hub's mom collects Hallmark's fancy moving ornaments and gives us every year's edition, so the tree is quite noisy too! Girls love it though. : )

I couldn't reply to your comment via email b/c it said at no-reply so...the answer is no. It's at St. Vincent...I really want to do L&D or Post-Partum and ACH doesn't offer that...the closest they offer is NICU where Mr. B was...I love babies but I really want to be on the birthing end and not on the end where they're all sick or up for adoption. I think that would be hard for me because almost every kid in the NICU is sick; at least in L&D and PP you have some sick and some well. Even though I got teary eyed on my L&D day because watching a baby be born is miraculous! (I may be too sensitive to be a nurse ha!) I just know how much I cried reading yours and Kelly's blogs after following ya'll through your pregnancies and then when B & H were sick at birth and I don't know if I could do that everyday at work. Who knows what my future holds though....we'll see in about 6 months. Haha I am so indecisive...I just hope to be able to get a job right away after graduation. I know there's supposedly a nursing shortage but the economy is also bad and I know some hospitals (UAMS) aren't hiring new grads right now. Hopefully, I will stand out since I am in nursing honor society and do really well academically...not to brag just saying. Only God knows...I'll just have to wait and see. Sorry, but I just gave you the long version haha!

Yes I do. My mom started it with making us a special ornament each year. Now, I buy each child a special ornament from the year. For instance, my oldest girl is still doing ballet and loves Barbie so I got her the bArbie ballet dancer this year. My son started piano and loves it this year so I had a musical note (in our school's colors) made from a lady on etsy. I always get an ornament for the family from where ever we traveled that year if it was a special trip. My husband and I recently went on a cruise so we bought the cruise ship ornament and I wrote 2009 on the bottom so we'd remember the year. My kids are older so this year my 9,7, 5 year olds got to choose what goes on the tree. The handmade glass bulbs that somebody has made for us are not put out yet...glass breaking is very sharp.

YEP! We take the kids out each year to pick their ornaments and Grammy and Papa buy us all ornaments every year as well. Often time Grandma and Grandpa will get us ornaments too. (you can read about that here: http://webbfam4.blogspot.com/2009/12/holiday-traditions.html)

This year our tree was small so we only use the special ornaments that the kids have gotten in the past few years. I like it!
