Nutella Banana Bread

I wanted to take my basic Banana Bread Two Ways recipe, and add a new and very delicious ingredient - Nutella! I've seen other people mix it into their batters before, but I did mine a little differently. I hope you'll love it as much as we do!

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 c margarine - room temp
2 eggs, beaten well at room temp
4 T buttermilk OR 1/2 cup if you are doubling the recipe
3 smashed bananas
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup Nutella

Note: When I make this recipe, I almost always double it. A single batch will make 12 muffins and one loaf of bread, a doubled batch will make all this (click for the pic).

Cream the margarine and the sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk and bananas.

Sift flour and soda together. Fold into the wet mixture.

Add chocolate.

Pour into well greased bread pans. Swirl in dollops of Nutella - I usually do 3 spoonfuls per loaf pan, and you can do about 1 teaspoon per muffin. Just use the spoon to swirl it through the batter without mixing.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until almost done.

For muffins, bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
