Shopping and Cookies: Two of my favorite things

So I hit the icy trails this morning on the hunt for some skinny jeans. I took all of your advice and had a list in my head. I headed to Target first, because I had some other things I needed to get while I was there. They had several pairs of SJ's but they didn't have any long enough for me.

Then we hit up Old Navy because we were going to grab lunch across the street.

And...

Success! Even better? Success only cost me $29. Sweet.
I bought a size up because the rise was better and when I bend down to get B, the jeans stay up.

And do we ever escape a store without something for B? I think not.
When we came home, I made these. You can get the recipe here.
Thanks to everyone for the advice on the jeans (and the boots!)!!

Be sure to go check out Jaime's awesome blog design giveaway! It ends tomorrow!

I have got to get a pair of skinny jeans. I've stayed away from them because I think I look better with a flare leg, but I really want a pair of jeans I can tuck into my new boots! Maybe i'll have to hit up Target and Old Navy! I've never even thought to shop there for jeans! I guess that would be a great place since I don't want to sink a lot of $$ into them.

Old Navy is the only place I've found w/affordable skinny jeans that fit correctly. And I am the WORST person to be shopping for "skinny" jeans right now, I'm 27 weeks preggo! But they make em for us too lol!

Those jeans and boots are so cute! I am really getting excited about wearing normal clothes again. :) I'm tired of wearing the same 8-10 shirts. :)

Love love love the tshirt for B. I will have to go check out what they have in the way of girlie stuff for V-Day. I've been an ebay nut lately. The cookies look great, I will be snatching the recipie on those!

And I wanted to tell you about this walking thing. First, I know all babies are different. But what you describe when B does his walking or refusasl thereof is exactly what Bailey did, about the same age. She would take about 2 steps and then stop and crawl at mock speed. She could stand and squat to get a toy and stand back up, she could pivot all the way around, the could cruise holding on to one finger or just touching the furniture every now and then, but would never just give it up and walk. She turned one on Dec.22 and on Dec. 24th, she stood up, walked about 5 steps, looked around to see who was watching, walked about 5 more, clapped for herself, walked about 5 more, and has never looked back. So I'd say right about the time of his bday, you won't be able to keep up with him. We laugh at Bailey because she takes it slow on the hardwoods but when she hits the carpet and those toes can grip, she goes so fast she is almost running. And on that note, I get in lots of trouble by my MIL and my Dad because she almost never has on socks and shoes. That is because I read babies learn to walk better without them because they use their toes to grip the floor and for balance. It's hard for them to walk in shoes when they can't actually feel the floor. I will put her socks and shoes on and go where ever we are going, but when we get there, if it's somewhere where I can, I take them off and she goes barefooted. At childcare, she takes them off and is barefooted and I can tell a real difference when she has shoes on, she's not near as fast or good at walking. Give him some toe time and see if that helps.

He'll be zooming before you know it. They just grow up so fast!

Hey Jenna, I was at work yesterday and picked up the latest issue of People magazine during a quiet moment, and there was a page of the latest fashion trends that showcased the same kind of boot that you're wearing in this picture. It's called the motorcycle boot and they showed all these pictures of celebrities like Carrie Underwood who were wearing them too, along with more pictures of the boots. So for the person you know who doesn't like them, tell them that they need to get with the program! You're at the cutting edge of fashion! You go, girl!
